It’s a grudge fight three years in the making.
Chris Eubank Jr and Conor Benn were originally scheduled to scrap back in 2022, when many considered this to be a hype bout, designed to cash in on the family history of the original Eubank vs Benn battles that their fathers endured in the early nineties.
But that date was cancelled after Benn failed a drugs test, costing the pair millions and stalling their respective careers. And that was where the bad blood between the pair was born; this is now a grudge match for the ages.

At the time of writing, bookmakers are offering best odds of 4/7 on Eubank Jr to win by any means, with Benn the 6/4 underdog (the draw is available at 14/1).
Punters can also avail themselves of the 6/4 on Eubank Jr to win by KO or TKO, with the current IBO middleweight champion a 3/1 chance to land the victory on points.
Benn, meanwhile, can be backed at 5/2 to KO Eubank Jr or stop the fight early, with a points win for the underdog available at 8/1.

Few headline fights have been so dominated by weight issues as this Eubank Jr vs Benn bout.
Realistically, Benn is stepping up two weight divisions from welterweight to make this fight at the 160lbs limit; it will be interesting to see how that works out for his slight 5ft 8in frame.
Eubank, meanwhile, is a regular at middleweight – he won the vacant IBO title at the weight back in October, so while it’s something of a struggle for a naturally big guy to slim down into fighting shape, especially at the age of 35, at least he has experience of success in this division.
Meanwhile, a hydration clause has also been implemented that will prevent either fighter from weighing 170lb or more on fight night; in theory, that shouldn’t be a factor.
There’s no real way of knowing how Benn is going to fare at middleweight. Will he have lost the speed of movement and quick hands that he’s known for? A couple of mediocre performances in wins over journeymen since his return from his drug ban suggest that there’s ring rust, too.
Eubank Jr will not be in a forgiving mood. He’s only lost three times in a 37-fight career, and each of those came against classy operators in the form of Billy-Joe Saunders, George Groves and Liam Smith – the latter of which he avenged nine months later.

He has done the dance at 160lb many times, remains an elite-level fighter and, with a height advantage of 3in and a reach advantage of 4in, boasts considerable physical advantages over Benn. It’s hard to paint a picture for an underdog victory here; maybe Eubank Jr will be complacent? Given the stakes and the animosity, that seems unlikely.
Benn has never lost, which showcases his defensive capabilities, and so it may take Eubank Jr a while to suss him out. But when he does, that concussive punch power will surely prove to be the difference-maker, with Benn in unchartered territory when it comes to taking a punch from a natural, world class 160lb fighter.

Eubank Jr vs Benn Undercard
Anthony Yarde and Lyndon Arthur are currently 1-1, and will complete their trilogy on Saturday night.
Yarde is the 1/7 favourite having knocked out his opponent in their last meeting back in 2021, but Arthur has rebuilt since and went 12 rounds with undisputed light heavyweight champion Dmitry Bivol in December 2023.
This could be a closer fight than the odds suggest, and is perhaps one for punters to sit on their hands.
One of the best bets on the undercard, perhaps, is backing the undefeated Viddal Riley to beat Cheavon Clarke on points at 6/5. Riley is a slick cruiserweight who appears destined for world level, while Clarke suffered a heavy knockdown in the first round of his defeat to Leonardo Mosquea in December.
He’s a warrior and will be tough to stop inside the distance, but Riley’s supreme technical ability should see him land a wide decision.
Punters seeking a treble can package up Eubank Jr to win by stoppage, Riley to win on points and the 50/50 fight between Liam Smith and Aaron McKenna to go the distance – both are gifted technicians, but neither is a huge puncher or knockout artist.
