BetVictor Summary
BetVictor is a well-established bookmaker that offers odds for more than 30 different sports. Their iOS app is one of the highest-rated betting apps available from a UK licensed operator – 4.7 out of 5 at the time of writing.
Who are BetVictor?
Established as an on-course bookmaker back in the 1930s, BetVictor was officially born in 1946 when Victor Chandler launched an expanded version of the business.
They have been known as various different things, from Victor Chandler to VC Bet, but the BetVictor name has stuck since 2012 – Michael Tabor, known to some readers as a very successful racehorse owner, was instrumental in that as the major shareholder.
BetVictor also offers white label services to external betting companies, which is why the websites and apps of TalkSPORT Bet, Betano and Parimatch look so familiar!
Are BetVictor’s Odds Any Good?
For the big football matches, typically those in the Premier League, BetVictor’s margin is around 5.5-6.5%.
We would classify this as pretty good – some other ‘soft’ bookies offer lower margins, but most big-name books are higher.
Their horse racing margin is roughly what we’d expect from a mainstream bookmaker too, although it’s worth noting that they offer the Best Odds Guaranteed promotion – that way, you stand a much better chance of getting value prices.
After analysing all of their key sports and bet categories, I found that BetVictor particularly performed well in tennis – some match markets had a margin of less than 6%, which manifests itself often as industry-best prices in the match winner and handicap options.
However, for the sake of balance, I would describe BetVictor’s greyhound betting odds as poor compared to some of their main rivals – an overround of 16% is just way too high and prevents their customers from finding value.

This used to be all the rage back in the day, but then bookmakers started tightening their belts and making their welcome offers less attractive – so credit to BetVictor for retaining what is effectively a 300% bonus on your first deposit.

Football Betting
Remember, if you bet on the English Premier League, BetVictor is a handy bookmaker to have in your rotation due to their low margins.
They also offer a unique ‘Match Betting 1 Up’ market, where if your selection goes a goal up you will be paid out as a winner – regardless of the final score.
All of the other bells and whistles you’d expect – cash out, bet builder, boosted odds etc – are in place, as well as a handy array of specials; with BetVictor, you can wager on managerial sackings, player transfers and even the Ballon d’Or winner.
Their in-play offering is strong too, with dozens of bet types and even bet builders available live. And while BetVictor’s live streaming channel doesn’t support football, they offer some unique and genuinely useful stats in their graphics instead – ‘% time in dangerous attacks’ being one that I personally find particularly interesting.
Horse Racing Betting
There’s a couple of handy tools and extras that I want to shine a light on here.
The first is the ‘Betfinder’ tool, which I think is invaluable. BetVictor presents a list of different options that you can tick: course winner, distance winner, beaten favourite last time out, jockey/trainer in form, won last race etc.
Select your parameters and BetVictor will show a list of horses running today and tomorrow that fit your description… making bet selection so much quicker and easier.
Best Odds Guaranteed is available from 09:00 GMT on the day of the race, while BetVictor also promise price boosts for every race, every day – not many other betting sites deliver on that.
The live streaming channel is good, with full access to races in the UK and Ireland, as well as overseas in the US, France, South Africa and so on.
Odds wise, they’re decent enough – sometimes you’ll get top price, other times you won’t. Their margin is about average, but remember those price boosts… they might just be available for a horse you were going to back elsewhere, so the best value will be with BetVictor.
Sports Betting
I counted more than 30 different sports available, so there’s decent coverage here.
No individual sport in particular stands out – in truth, BetVictor is very much a football and horse racing centric bookmaker, but as already mentioned their tennis betting overround is definitely on the generous side.
All of the key sports are available in-play, with their solid basketball betting offering joining the likes of tennis and table tennis on the live streaming schedule.
Sadly, there are no dedicated promotions beyond those provided for football and horse racing, although BetVictor does offer promos tied to specific events – Wimbledon and The Masters golf being two examples.
BetVictor Payment Methods
Now we come to what is my only real bugbear about BetVictor: their lack of payment methods.
When it comes to making a deposit to claim the welcome offer, only Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay and Google Pay are allowed. The good news is that the minimum deposit is £5, although remember you need to deposit £10 to claim the welcome bonus.
It’s basically the same for withdrawals, although bank transfer also becomes available now. We’ve tested the payout speeds at BetVictor and our Apple Pay withdrawal was processed instantly, with our Visa cash out completed within the hour.
