BetMGM Summary
BetMGM is the brainchild of MGM Resorts and Entain, with LeoVegas providing the software. The result is a brand that offers generous odds (usually aside from the favourite), value-adding promotions and a decent range of sports and markets. BetMGM also offers one of the best welcome bonuses in the business.
Who are BetMGM?
You may be familiar with the MGM brands already: MGM Studios has been making films and TV shows for more than a century, while MGM Resorts operates casinos and hospitality across the United States and parts of Asia.
BetMGM is their betting brand. It was launched in the UK in August 2023, utilising the software and technology of one of its partners, LeoVegas.
Today, BetMGM is a 50/50 collaboration between MGM Resorts and Entain, who you may know best as the operator of Coral and Ladbrokes.
Are BetMGM’s Odds Any Good?
It quickly became evident that one of the ways that BetMGM was going to establish itself in the UK market was by making its odds as competitive as possible.
One of the things that’s noticeable about BetMGM’s pricing is that they aren’t the industry best price for market favourites very often at all. However, if you plan to back the next best or an outsider, this is where they really come to the fore.
We tested their odds for a set of Premier League fixtures and the key markets: match winner, both teams to score and over 2.5 goals.
And it was confirmed how strong BetMGM is for betting on ‘underdog’ positions: for example, in the Arsenal vs Coventry City game, they were industry best price for Under 2.5 Goals… in a contest in which Over 2.5 Goals was as short as 4/7.
We analysed BetMGM’s horse racing odds across 100 races on the Flat and over jumps in the UK and Ireland. They were outright best, or joint-best, price for at least one runner in more than 80 of those; but on less than 20 occasions were they offering the top odds on the favourite.

It’s a ‘Bet £10, Get £40 in Free Bets’ bonus; that 400% offering is as strong as you will find with any UK-facing bookmaker.
Those free bets, paid out when you have deposited and wagered a cumulative £10 (or £10 on one bet, if you prefer), are delivered as 2 x Football Accas (4+) & 2 x Sports Multiples (2+).

You can use your free bets on pretty much any sport or market, apart from esports and non UK/Ireland horse racing.
Football Betting
As well as their highly competitive pricing on underdogs and the less-likely outcomes, BetMGM also offer a range of other perks for football punters.
Scroll through the site/app on a Saturday afternoon and you will be met with countless odds boosts and specials, while their market depth for the key leagues and competitions is strong – albeit not quite as deep as bet365 and others.
The navigation of the bet builder section is nice too, with punters able to quickly toggle between popular, player, match result, goals and corners options – rather than just one long list, as is the case with some apps.
You can bet in play with BetMGM and watch some live streams, with all of the most important markets available even after the game has kicked off.
Some player prop markets, such as passes, tackles, shots etc, are absent, which is a shame, while you’ll only find half-goal Asian handicaps – quarter-goal lines are not supported.
But we’ll sign off with a positive, given that BetMGM does offer a solid football betting platform. The Golden Goal game has a jackpot of £250,000 if you’re able to correctly predict the score of six selected matches, while all of the key promos are in place: acca boost, early payout if your team goes two-up and super sub.
Horse Racing Betting
BetMGM offers horse racing punters that like to bet against the favourite some excellent prices, as already discussed.
Although not providing the widest selection of markets, punters can still bet win only and each way, alongside forecast, tricast and ‘betting without’ options.
I like the form and stats guides, which go beyond just form and weight to include rating and race history within the past year or so. There’s also a written race overview with some handy tips included.
Live streaming and in-play betting are both available, although frustratingly BetMGM has withdrawn Best Odds Guaranteed from their service.
In addition to the absence of BOG, their horse racing platform could also be improved with more ante post prices – only the Grand National was offered at the time of writing this, with no Cheltenham Festival odds provided.
Sports Betting
Although I’m not a huge fan of the layout of BetMGM personally, you can still find a comprehensive range of sports by scrolling along the carousel of icons on the homepage.
My general feeling is that BetMGM covers these key sports in a way that is solid, without necessarily bringing anything new to the table.
For example, browse their tennis, golf, MMA and Boxing betting events and you’ll see what I mean – all the most popular markets are in place, so you won’t be let down, but you won’t find many exclusives or points of difference either.
One thing that I do like is that the early payout promotion is available on tennis and NBA basketball games, So, if your player/team builds a specific lead, you’ll be paid out as a winner whether they go on to prevail or not.
