The Group C Situation
Scotland play Brazil on Wednesday, 24 June at 11.00 pm (UK time). Can Steve Clarke’s side beat the five-time winners? Unlikely, but they can definitely prevent Brazil from completely annihilating them.
The tournament favourites drew with Morocco and then comfortably beat Haiti 3-0. Despite this, they’re not yet mathematically guaranteed a spot in the next stage. This is bad news for Scotland, as Brazil will be playing to remove any lingering doubt.
The good news for Scotland is that they can still make the knockout round by finishing Group C as one of the best third-place teams. Unless, of course, Brazil causes a severe drop in Scotland’s goal difference, which is definitely a possibility.

Again, like predictions ahead of the Morocco game, the prospect of both teams scoring is unlikely.
