BetVictor v BetFred – Which Is Better?

BetVictor or BetFred – Which Is Better?

Amongst the real success stories of British bookmaking, both Betfred and BetVictor have grown from relatively humble beginnings to become instantly recognisable international betting brands. Two huge companies with legions of loyal customers, both can be counted upon to provide a high-end betting experience. But here we ask ourselves the tricky question of whether it is better to Bet Fred, or Bet Victor? Let’s take a look at how the companies compare in a number of key areas.

Odds

For many bettors this first category is close to the top of the list when choosing a bookmaker. We all want a decent return for our money after all, and consistently betting at lower odds can make a big difference over the course of the year.

For purposes of comparison, we examined the odds on offer for the latest racing events, weekend list of Premier League fixtures and a major upcoming golf tournament. Very little in it on the racing front, with both firms offering industry best prices on a selection of runners. BetVictor held a slight edge on the golf, but the biggest difference came in the football where Betfred offered consistently better odds across the selection of games we compared.

Welcome Offers

New customers who stake £10 on their first bet at Betfred will receive £30 in free bets along with 50 free spins (worth an additional £10), and then a further £20 in free bets after 5 days. Meanwhile the sports betting offer at BetVictor is stake £5 to receive two £10 free bets and a £10 slots bonus.

Both top value sign up offers, but with the value of the betfred offer coming in at double that of the betvictor offer there is a clear winner here, betfred.

Regular Offers

Double Delight, Hat-Trick Heaven and Acca Insurance

A win for Betfred in this category, and considering one of the companies early nicknames was “The Bonus King”, that shouldn’t come as much of a surprise. Double Delight, Hat-Trick Heaven and Acca Insurance are all popular with football bettors, whilst racing punters can benefit from excellent single winner bonuses on Lucky 15’s, 31’s and 63’s, extra place races and more.

BetVictor can’t quite match the offers of Betfred, but does boast a solid value loyalty club, which enables regular customers to receive a weekly £5 free bet and casino bonus.

Websites & Apps

Hard to knock either companies’ website or app layout, both of which offer the type of easy navigation and functionality you would expect of a top end operator. Some may find Betfred’s consistent menu system slightly more intuitive, but on the other hand the BetVictor app probably has a slightly sleeker look and feel to it. Really though, this all comes down to individual preference and you won’t be let down by either firm.

Depth of Sports & Markets Covered

From mainstream football and horseracing to more niche events such as hurling, or the emerging arena of esports, both sites score highly for the variety of sports on offer. Log in to either site on any given day and you will find close to thirty separate sports on which to place a bet.

BetVictor just edge it when looking at number of markets, with the range available for the major football games being particularly impressive. Betfred aren’t far behind though and, unless you are looking for a particularly obscure bet, you should find what you need at either site.

Service Features

The number of features on offer to punters has increased markedly in recent years, and it’s safe to say that both Betfred and BetVictor have been amongst the companies at the forefront of these improved facilities. Both sites offer cash out, live streaming, excellent design-your-own bet features, and best odds guaranteed on all British and Irish Horse Racing. If forced to give an edge in this category, our vote would just go to Betfred due to the sites more extensive live streaming service.

Payment Methods

Both companies score top marks for the depositing and withdrawal of funds, with debit cards, e-wallets, pre-payment options and more all accepted. Whatever your preferred transfer method, you should have no difficulty getting money in and out of your account.

Customer Support

In such a competitive market, companies can’t afford to come up short in this area, and neither Betfred nor BetVictor disappoint. Betfred offer Live Chat, email, and a telephone helpline, whilst BetVictor can be reached via Live Chat, email, Facebook and Twitter.

Conclusion

This looked like being a close battle and so it proved, but by virtue of a more flexible sign-up offer, excellent range of bonuses and more substantial live streaming service, it is Betfred who just hold the edge. Not much in it overall though, and BetVictor certainly also belong in the top bracket of online operators.
