Who are Bet365?

With more than one million active customers, bet365 is one of the most popular betting sites/apps in the UK.

The company was founded in the year 2000 in Stoke-on-Trent by the Coates family, with Denise Coates realising that online betting was going to surpass traditional high street betting in popularity in the near future.

Bet365 was launched as an online-only venture; a stance they retain to this day. They have expanded across Europe, Asia and North America, but continue to be based in Stoke – they have more than 5,000 employees in the UK alone.

Are Bet365’s Odds Any Good?

In all of our bookmaker reviews, we test how strong a betting site’s odds are compared to their main competitors for key sports and markets.

Bet365’s margins on Premier League betting are higher than the likes of Betfair and William Hill, but they were still best-priced for a handful of selections in the next round of EPL games.

We also examine the Premier League Winner market to test outright prices; bet365 led the way for 5/20 of the available selections, which is a decent number.

Their margin on horse racing is typically around 15-20%, which is a touch higher than we’d like. That said, bet365 is often competitive when it comes to the big races and they are also one of the first to switch on No Runner No Bet for ante post markets.

For many of the other sports they cover, we’d describe bet365 as competitive compared to other mainstream bookmakers, but lagging behind the ‘soft’ betting sites that use their odds as a way to attract price sensitive customers.

Is the Bet365 Welcome Offer Good Value?

There was once a time that ‘Bet £10, Get £30 in Free Bets’ was the standard welcome offer provided by a betting site.

These days, some offer more value in that regard and others less, so it’s refreshing that bet365 have stuck with their classic bonus.

Technically, you can deposit and bet £5 if you want – in this case, you’ll receive £15 in free bet credits. For the full amount, deposit and wager £10, either in a single bet or cumulatively, and then wait for those bets to settle.

Once they have, you’ll receive £30 in free bet credits that you can use as you want. Any winnings are added to your account balance, minus the free bet stake used.

If you were to really analyse what makes bet365 so popular, undoubtedly their football betting is a big part of their appeal.

They offer the most comprehensive set of leagues and competitions imaginable, with incredible market depth – the standard Premier League game comes with more than 80 different betting options.

Bet365’s bet builder tool is on a whole new level as well, with the widest selection of markets to add to your betslip – including player-based bets, such as shots, tackles, fouls and passes, for the top leagues across Europe.

We really want to shine a light on their live streaming experience. If you’re somebody that loves watching football from around the world, the bet365 live stream channel is unmissable – La Liga, Serie A, German Bundesliga and Ligue 1 are just some of the competitions you can watch as long as you have funds in your account.

Aside from their occasionally uncompetitive odds, bet365 have otherwise created a very solid horse racing betting product.

They offer all of the markets you’d expect across racing in the UK, Ireland, France and overseas, while innovating ideas you won’t find elsewhere: Position Payout, for example, is an alternative to each way betting that pays out a bigger multiplier the higher your horse finishes in the places.

Bet365 were one of the first betting sites to roll out a horse racing bet builder tool, which allows more options than most of their competitors – win, place, winning distance, match-ups and either to win being just some of the examples.

Best Odds Guaranteed is available from 08:00 GMT on race day – remember, some other bookmakers start at 09:00 or even later, while other horse racing promotions available at bet365 include extra places paid on selected races.

You can access Placepot, Quadpot and other Tote pools from your bet365 account, while their live streaming channel features action from UK, Irish and French meetings, as well as races across America, Asia and South Africa.

Sports Betting

You can bet on many other sports via the bet365 website or app, which we have to say is one of the smoothest and easiest to use on both Apple and Android devices.

Their tennis betting is particularly strong, with comprehensive market coverage across ATP and WTA Tour events but also Challenger and lower-level circuits as well. Bet365’s in-play betting platform for tennis includes a staggering array of matches and bet choices.

We’d like to reference their golf betting too, primarily because they provide the ‘pick your places’ promotion better than most – three, five, eight, ten and even 12 places are available for PGA and DP World Tour events.

Boxing betting is another jewel in bet365’s crown. They provide all the usual betting markets you’d expect, but how many other bookmakers offer punch-based markets – punches landed, power punches thrown, jabs landed etc? The answer is not very many at all.

Bet365 Payment Methods

Pretty much every punter under the sun will be satisfied by bet365’s accepted payment methods, which include debit card, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Pay By Bank for deposits – with some options having a minimum deposit of just £5 in place.
