Arsenal vs Tottenham: Betting Preview
Another cracking weekend of Premier League action in store, with a number of eye-catching fixtures set to light up our screens. Topping the bill is the first leg of the Super Sunday double-header as arch-North London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham lock horns at the Emirates.
Always one of the first fixtures highlighted by fans of both clubs, the clash has a little added bite this season, with both sides having made an excellent start to the campaign. With four wins and a draw apiece from their opening five games, the sides sit locked together on 13 points, separated only by goal difference. The Gunners bossed the fixture last season, winning 3-1 in this one and 2-0 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, but Spurs already look an improved unit under Ange Postecoglou, so how will things pan out this time around?
Gunners to Edge Entertaining Encounter
Spurs are unbeaten in three on the road in the Premier League this season. That’s a solid record, but one which must be put into perspective, with the side's two wins coming against sides likely to be involved in the relegation battle in Burnley and Bournemouth. There have, however, been definite signs of encouragement from an attacking perspective, with Postecoglou’s all-action approach paying dividends at the top end of the pitch. So far this season, Spurs have had more shots than any other side in the Premier League and are averaging a handsome 2.60 goals per game. With that kind of attacking output, we like their chances of getting on the scoresheet, considering both Fulham and Nottingham Forest have managed to breach the Gunners rearguard at the Emirates this season.
Keeping things tight at the other end may be a more difficult task. Spurs have gotten away with leaving acres of space in the wide areas against lesser opposition, but are unlikely to find the likes of Bukayo Saka and Leandro Trossard so forgiving. Spurs' front-foot approach should provide Arsenal with ample opportunities on the counter, and we expect the hosts to take enough of those chances to come out on top.

Trossard on the Scoresheet
With goals expected to be on the menu, it makes sense to add to the staking plane with an anytime scorer punt, and the man to side with is the bang in form Leandro Trossard. Despite the calls of large sections of the Gunners' support, it has taken time for the Belgian forward to force his way into the starting lineup, but he is now integrating well into Arteta’s attacking system. Hitting the winner at Everton, he followed up with a goal and an assist against PSV Eindhoven and may be in for another productive afternoon. Looking at the likely Spurs line-up, the right-sided trio of Pedro Porro, Pape Sarr, and Dejan Kulusevski looks like a potential area to exploit, and Trossard’s intelligent interplay and running should yield at least one excellent goalscoring opportunity.
