Premier League Weekend Treble February 26 & 27
The Premier League continues in full swing, and with Manchester City losing last weekend, the title race has something about it once again. Couple that with the relegation battle at the bottom, which both Leeds and Everton have seemingly been dragged into, and there is a lot to take in for fans and punters right now.
This weekend, we look at the games on offer and we have our Premier League treble below, picking our best bets, which pay out 23/1 with 888 Sport.
Newcastle to beat Brentford
If you look at the relegation battle, Newcastle and Brentford are doing the exact opposite right now. Brentford can’t buy a win, and are low on confidence, while Newcastle are flying, high on confidence and moving in the right direction.
There’s little to choose between these two on paper, but given how they both come into the game, Newcastle have to be fancied. They are unbeaten in six, have won three of them, and picked up good draws with West Ham and Manchester United along the way.
To kick the treble off, we are backing Newcastle to win away at Brentford.
Crystal Palace v Burnley – Under 1.5 Goals
Two sides go head to head on the back of good wins, but when you look at their profile overall, the thing that stands out is a lack of goals. In the last six games Burnley have played, four have seen one goal or less, two of the last three Palace games have seen the same.
Expect Burnley to go out and defend strongly, and not be too adventurous, especially in the first part of the game. Palace struggle for goals, and that all looks set to lead towards a game that is going to see goals hard to come by.
The second leg of our treble is under 1.5 goals in the game between Palace and Burnley.
Everton v Manchester City – City win & BTTS
Hot on the back of their defeat by Tottenham last week, Manchester City are back in a title battle with Liverpool, and every single point is vital. One aspect of their game last week that disappointed was their defensive play, usually strong, but last weekend it was poor.
Can Everton capitalise on that? The Toffees are under new boss Frank Lampard and need to start picking points up soon. This game is an expected loss, so a free hit for Lampard and we don’t think they will go down without a fight.
While eventually, City are expected to beat Everton, the home side can make it tough and score a goal. To round off the treble, we like a Manchester City win as they bid for the Premier League title, while combining that with both teams to score in this one.
