Premier League Treble Saturday 11th January
A full list of fixtures from the Premier League awaits us across Friday, Saturday and Sunday this week, with the majority taking place on Saturday. In those is the game of the weekend which is a clash between top of the table Liverpool and Tottenham at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. We have picked out a treble for the games this weekend and here are our three fancies from the games that take place on Saturday.
Everton vs Brighton
The Toffees have really turned things around since Marco Silva left the club, and they are performing as we all expected them to do this season. They host Brighton here in another game they can win, and we are going to back them to do so. The stats around goals are interesting here, with both teams scoring in five of their last six games as goals appear to be easier to come by for them.
We are going to use that stat to help us bet on this game, so our bet here is for Everton to win the game and both teams to score.
Wolves vs Newcastle
Wolves come here on the back of two defeats but one of those came at Anfield against Liverpool, where they actually played pretty well. A return home here and an easier task can be enough to get them back to winning ways. They host Newcastle who have lost four of their last five league games, including their last three, and found themselves drawing with Rochdale in the FA Cup last weekend. The Magpies have conceded nine goals in their last three games, and Wolves can take advantage of that with their fast attacking players and put Newcastle under pressure.
A comfortable afternoon for Wolves is expected in this one, so we are backing a Wolves win and over 2.5 goals in the game.
Tottenham vs Liverpool
The big game of the weekend sees Liverpool travel to London to take on Tottenham on Saturday evening. It appears as though it is a case of when, not if, for Liverpool’s title bid, and they could go on a poor run and still be in control, such is their advantage of 13 points.
They face Tottenham at what could turn out to be a very good time as the home side are without star striker Harry Kane. They struggled to create against Middlesbrough in the cup last weekend, and we can see that happening for the next few weeks while Kane is absent. This Liverpool defence is rock solid, and more than capable of keeping Tottenham off the score sheet.
We fancy Liverpool to win this one, and we are going to back them to record a clean sheet too, so a Liverpool win to nil is our bet.
