Premier League Treble bet - Sun 1st May
As April turns to May, the exact makeup of the bottom three, league winner and Champion’s League positions are still to be determined. And Sunday’s three fixtures all look significant, either in the race for the top four, battle to beat the drop, or both. Here we pick out our best bets in what looks a cracking day of action.
Everton vs Chelsea – 14:00
Depending upon how Burnley get on at Watford on Saturday afternoon, Frank Lampard’s beleaguered Everton outfit may well find themselves four points adrift of safety. With just one win in six, the Toffees are sinking further into the mire, but have at least shown a glimmer of improvement of late, beating Manchester United, drawing with Leicester, and putting up decent resistance for much of a 2-0 loss at Liverpool. Boasting a disastrous defensive record on the road, they have been comparatively solid at Goodison - conceding more than once in only three of sixteen, and none of their last seven.
Chelsea were value for far more than their one goal winning margin over West Ham last weekend, and have been largely excellent on the road, with eleven wins and just two defeats in 16. At the back they have kept nine clean sheets and conceded more than once only once.
Given the respective home and away defensive records, this looks like being tight. We still like a superior Chelsea side to win, but possibly only just.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Leicester City – 15:00
Currently fifth and only two points adrift of major rivals Arsenal in fourth spot, Tottenham shouldn’t need any motivating ahead of this home clash with a Leicester City outfit destined for a mid-table finish.
Antonio Conte’s men have however been stuttering a little of late, and head into this on the back of a goalless draw at Brentford and 1-0 defeat to Brighton here. That lack of goals is all the more surprising considering they had bagged a total of 14 in their four previous games.
Brendan Rodgers Leicester side aren’t on the greatest of runs themselves, and head into the game following uninspiring draws with Aston Villa and Everton. The Foxes have won just one of their last eleven on the road but have at least scored in nine of those games.
In what looks a must win to stay in the Champion’s League race, we fancy Spurs to bounce back to form in a game which may see a few goals.

West Ham United vs Arsenal – 16:30
Rounding off the Sunday action is this cracker from the London Stadium, as fourth placed Arsenal take on a West Ham United side who, having been in the Champion’s League race, have now slumped to seventh.
Should Spurs see off Leicester in the early game, the Gunners will be in a position of having to win this in order to reclaim fourth spot. With West Ham being a side who generally play on the front foot, particularly here at home, this looks to have all the ingredients for an entertaining affair.
Both sides have scored in 13 of West Ham’s 16 home games, and we like the chances of that trend continuing here. Arriving on the back of an excellent 4-2 win at Chelsea and 3-1 verdict over Manchester United at home, we like Mikel Arteta’s men to take a huge step towards the Champion’s League in what may be a thriller.
