Premier League Picks 19 - 21 Dec
We have one Premier League round of fixtures left before Christmas and there are good games spread across the entire weekend from Saturday until Monday.
The top of the league remains extremely tight and down at the bottom things are close too.
Here is a look at three games this weekend that we have picked out to form our Premier League weekend treble.
Everton v Arsenal – Saturday 5:30pm
The Gunners are in big trouble right now, and they come here on the back of just four wins from 13 games, losing seven along the way. Supposedly a top six team, Arsenal are just three places and five points above the relegation zone.
Everton began the season very well, and their most optimistic fans mentioned the title for them. Since then they have struggled a little, but this week has seen them win two huge games against Chelsea and Leicester.
In both recent wins Everton have kept a clean sheet, while Arsenal have scored just three goals in their last nine games. Eventually things will improve for the London side, but not this week, it is Everton to win to nil for us.
Manchester United v Leeds – Sunday 4:30pm
Leeds have shown they are more than capable of mixing it in the Premier League so far, and have managed to score plenty of goals, something that many newly promoted teams struggle with. They face Manchester United on Sunday, a team who could go as high as second if they win their game in hand.
There has been a bit of doom and gloom around Manchester United recently, but they have won five and drawn one of their last six and in an open year, look like genuine title contenders. Defensively they have never looked rock solid, and that combined with the scoring ability that Leeds have, forms the base of our bet.
Manchester United should be too strong for Leeds, but the Yorkshire side will certainly give it a go and we fancy them to get on the scoresheet. It is Manchester United to win and both teams to score for us in this one.
Chelsea v West Ham – Monday 8:00pm
We round off with a derby in London, and two teams who come into the weekend separated by just one point and one league position. West Ham have been playing very well for the most part of this season, and should come here full of confidence.
Chelsea have had their moments, but recently they have lost to Everton and Wolves. Looking at the betting, the draw here looks to be a huge price, a result West Ham would certainly be pleased with and we think they can keep the Chelsea front line at bay and grab a point from this game.
