Whenever Liverpool face Manchester United, you know you are in for a special game that means a lot. This time around, it is going to mean a whole lot more both on the day, and in terms of the 2020/21 Premier League title race, which looks as though it is going to be fascinating.
Heading into the game on Sunday, Manchester United are sitting at the top of the Premier League table, something we haven’t said for a while. Defending champions Liverpool are just behind them, three points back.
A win for United puts them six points clear of rivals Liverpool, while a win for Liverpool will put the team’s level. This is an exciting title race, and it is sure to take a big twist at Anfield this weekend.

We think, and hope, both teams attack and go for the win here. They both have a huge opportunity to lay down a marker, and both have the attacking players to make this something very special.
A defensive performance from Manchester United would change that, but let’s hope they go for it, and try to really jump into the title race and announce themselves.
Assuming they do, we can expect to see goals here, there is far too much quality on the pitch for that to not happen, while both teams have had defensive issues too. Who knows who Liverpool will play at the centre of their defence, but their choices are either to go with someone out of position, or two youngsters, neither of which are ideal for a game like this one.
This isn’t one-sided though, Manchester United have struggled against top quality attacking teams, and Liverpool are certainly one of those. Both teams should have chances to score, and they have players who are capable of taking them, so backing both teams to score here seems like the best way to move forward.
In terms of the result of the game, with how both teams are playing at the moment, the value has to be with Manchester United. They dug out a win during midweek at Burnley to go top, they have Paul Pogba playing some of the best football we have seen from him in a United shirt, and an opportunity to grab.
There won’t be many better opportunities for this team to go to Anfield and win, there also won’t be many opportunities to go six points clear of Liverpool. The pressure is on, it’s a huge week, but we are siding with United to handle that and pick up a huge three points.
