How We Rate And Rank Betting Offers
When our team lists a new betting offer, we first take our time to look at each of the following aspects of an offer (and of the bookmaker behind the offer), before giving it a rating. The points we need to carefully consider are as follows:
Trust
This is always number one on our check list. Yes, the betting offer might look great and make us eager to sign up to try and capitalize, but first we have to do our due diligence, and this really all comes down to one thing – License? We are looking for the magic words “licensed and regulated by the Great Britain Gambling Commission (Account No. XXXXX)”. If the betting site behind the offer does not have a UKGC license we will not review the offer.
Value
How much is the offer worth in real money terms? It goes without saying that a “Bet £10 Get £60” offer is more attractive than a “Bet £10 Get £5” offer, as essentially you are getting a bonus worth 6x your initial stake, as opposed to one worth 0.5x your first stake, so the offer value is a big factor into how we will rank a betting offer in our comparison tables.

That said, the headline value of an offer may not always paint the full picture, so reading the offer details and terms & conditions is important. We pay particular attention to details such as minimum odds (for qualifying bets and free bet tokens), minimum qualifying legs, wagering requirements, sports and market type requirements, time limits and so on. Some offers may look great at first read, but when we dig deeper and find that an offer is really just designed to make your chance of making any profit as difficult as possible, then we will downgrade it in our listings.
Odds
Although when talking about free bet offers you will typically be most concerned by how much in terms of “free bets” or “welcome bonus” you stand to receive, the odds available from the betting site are still as important as ever. Take this hypothetical case - two bookmakers both offering you “Bet £10 on Messi to be top goalscorer at the World Cup, and get a £5 free bet for every goal he scores”. This is a nice offer, however Bookie A has Messi priced at 14/1, while Bookie B only has odds of 12/1 – You’re going to go with bookie A of course. This can happen a lot as the bookies all offer similar promotions to each other, so checking the odds is always vital.
Support
It may not be as glamorous as having a shiny new app, or a new big name ambassador, but having a strong, reliable multi-channel customer support team (preferably available 24/7) is an often overlooked and undervalued asset. As much as we would like them to, things don’t always run smoothly in life, and that free bet token you were promised upon settlement of your qualifying bet may, for some reason, not appear in your account when expected. So having a customer support to speak to in these instances is essential, and any betting offer from a company who does prioritise strong customer support will always be looked upon favourably by us.
