FA Cup Final Betting Preview
The FA Cup final takes place this weekend, with Chelsea taking on Leicester City. Both teams look set to land a top four spot in the league, could this put the cherry on top for Leicester, or will it be the first of two potential trophies for Chelsea this month?
Route to the Final
Both teams had very close semi finals to get here, and both ended up winning by the same score line, which was a 1-0 victory.
Purely based on the opposition they played, Chelsea were the most impressive in the semi finals as they beat Manchester City to book their place in this Saturday’s final. Leicester took care of Southampton a day later, to put them one game away from lifting the trophy.
What we did see in those semi finals is that both teams are capable of playing a very tight defensive game and limiting the chances they give up to the opposition. This was especially the case with Chelsea, and in recent weeks, including in the semi final, we have seen them stop some of the best attacking teams in the world, in Manchester City and Real Madrid.
Leicester on the other hand have been conceding goals, and just last week they surprisingly shipped four against Newcastle. They have the ability to play well defensively, but need to be at the top of their game, will they be that here?
How the Teams Compare
Both teams are full of quality, but in every area, the slight edge is with Chelsea. The Blues have a better defensive system and slightly better quality defensive players to play out that system. In midfield, Chelsea again have a small edge when it comes to creative players who can quickly send the team forward to attack.

Jamie Vardy will be the best striker on the pitch, which gives Leicester one advantage, though Chelsea do seem to have better back up and more options for goals in the team, rather than relying on one player to score the bulk of their goals.
Our FA Cup Final Prediction
We are basing our selections around a low number of goals in the game and Chelsea having the edge.
In terms of a bet for the game itself, the bet we like here is Chelsea to win to nil. They have kept quite a few clean sheets recently, we think they can bag another and take home the trophy.
Another bet we like is under 2.5 goals in the game, the game will begin tight and neither team will want to make a mistake in the early stages. As we progress through the game, it is unlikely that either team will open up, unless they have to, so scoring chances are likely to be limited.
In terms of players to watch out for in the game, Kai Havertz has been growing into his role in the Premier League, after initially struggling and with every game he looks better and better. He is a scoring threat, and looks a solid bet to score first in the game.
