Three games to get stuck into today, climaxing with the England v Scotland clash at Wembley. Here's our treble picks for the day.
Sweden v Slovakia – 2:00pm BBC1
We saw a very defensive performance from Sweden in their opening game, which resulted in them taking a point off Spain. Expect to see something different here, the Swedes have put themselves in a fantastic position to win the group and will now be going all out to attack more and win their final two games.
This is what we think will happen, although Slovakia won their opening game, they did so against 10 men for part of the game and weren’t that impressive. We are backing a Sweden win here, combined with over 1.5 goals in the game as we expect them to win this by more than a single goal.
Croatia v Czech Republic – 5:00pm BBC1
A huge game for these two, Croatia were beaten by England in their opener and need to bounce back here if they want to qualify in second place. For the Czech Republic, this is a great opportunity for them to stake their claim for second, and potentially winning this group.
They won against Scotland, looked good going forward but did struggle in defence, and gave the Scots plenty of scoring chances. With that in mind, and with Croatia needing to win, we are expecting this game to be quite open, and full of chances for the teams to score.
We are backing a Croatia win, and doubling this up with both teams to score in what could be a fun match.
England v Scotland – 8:00pm ITV
A great opportunity for England to put themselves in a position where they have qualified, and on course to win the group. Scotland did not show themselves to be good in defence on Monday against Czech Republic, so England should have far more chances than they did against the tight Croatians.
We are also expecting England to do a better job of keeping Scotland quiet. This is a big rivalry, but when you take that away, there is a real gulf in class between these two teams, and England can make that count. It is also worth noting that England often improve a great deal from their first to their second game in competitions like this, so expect even more from the Three Lions and a convincing win.
