Champions League Quarter Finals Preview
The Champions League has the unusual finish time of August this season, such is the way the sporting world has changed in recent months.
Last-16 games have taken place and now eight teams will battle it out in Portugal to determine a winner. This season is different, games are behind closed doors, played on neutral venues and played as one-off ties rather than the traditional two-legged affairs.
The quarter finals take place from Wednesday until Saturday with one game per day and the best two have certainly been kept until last.
Here is a look at those ties and some interesting betting markets for those who will be betting on the upcoming games.
Barcelona vs Bayern Munich – Friday 8pm
The champions of Germany, Bayern Munich, take on European giants Barcelona on Friday night in what is arguably the tie of the round. These two have a fantastic record in Europe, and the winner of this game will fancy their chances of going all the way.
Barcelona have not been at their best this season though, losing the league title to Real Madrid and they have not been the force of old. Bayern Munich on the other hand have been, and came back brilliantly to beat Chelsea last week to qualify for this stage.
They have the upper hand and are fancied to win this one. What we will see with these two is goals so for those who are looking to find additional value, Bayern to win and both teams to score could be the best way to go.

Manchester City vs Lyon – Saturday 8pm
Manchester City are the only English side remaining in the competition and would have expected to play Juventus at this stage. However, the Italian champions were knocked out by Lyon in the last-16 stage last week, leaving the French side with the chance to cause an upset again here.
City have had a bad season by their standards so far, anything other than a good run here would add to that. Losing to Lyon is not acceptable, and we don’t think that will happen. This City side looks to be far too strong for Lyon, and the neutral venue games that are one-off will suit Pep Guardiola’s men more than most.
A comfortable City win is on the cards we think here, and there are plenty of ways to add a bit of value if you are looking to bet on the game. For us, we are going with City to win both halves.
